Batam is a small island in Indonesia’s Riau archipelago. It is only 45mins boat ride from Singapore. Also known for its beaches, raucous nightlife and malls offering duty-free shopping, Batam offers activities including windsurfing, parasailing and jet skiing too.
That makes it a perfect short getaway for many!
Right after the sister’s wedding, we decided to go for one.
Batam View Beach Resort completes the trip. It is indeed a hotspot for many families and friends. It comes with many facilities such as swimming pool, private beach, sea sports centre and more.
I have no complaints on room, service, food etc. Satisfied much! They also provide free shuttle bus from Nongsa Terminal to the Resort. 😀
Another must-do in Batam: SEAFOOD! Wey Wey Live Seafood is one of the famous seafood place. It is located at Harbour Bay. There’s a long stretch of seafood restaurants there! But sadly, due to the crowd, waiting time may be a challenge.
Taste was great and price was cheap! Oh ya, I almost forgot!
Don’t miss their Pisang Keju aka Cheese Banana Fritters. It’s the best! It can be found on the streets. Those food carts 😉
Breakfast and lunch we should not miss! Nasi Padang! Yummy! 😀
Before we head back for Singapore, shopping at Nagoya Hill Mall is another must-do. That’s the biggest mall in Batam. You might want to consider other places such as DC Mall, BCS Mall and Harbour Bay Mall.
On Labour Day, the ex-colleagues decided to go for one night at Batam! This time, we stayed at Harris Resort Waterfront. Another resort I would recommend! There’s a lot of activities you can do there. That includes water polo, volley ball, flying fox and more.
Again, no complaints on room too! It was indeed a big room for two of us. 😉
Dinner was at Golden Prawn 933. Taste was average. We also managed to squeeze some time for Kek Lapis factory!
We ended the night with singing our lungs out at K1. They sure update their songs well!
K1 is located just around Nagoya Hill Mall. Cheap and great! 🙂
